Long Service Certificate at Italia Chapter 2687

E. Comp Tony Franchi , SLGR,PAGDC,was presented with a 50 year “Long Service Certificate” by E. Comp Ian Currans, PGSoj, AsstMetGSupt , at the Regular Convocation of Italia Chapter No. 2687 held on Thursday 24th March 2015, at Freemasons Hall. 
More than 30 Companions attended the meeting to witness the presentation.

Tony was exalted into Italia Chapter on 22nd March 1965 and has enjoyed a very busy Masonic career including Member of the Consecrating team in 1974 and first Grand Director of Ceremonies of the newly formed Italian Grand Chapter; Founder Member of Italia Mark Lodge in 1976 and the Aeronautical Lodge 9647 in 1997; Member of Drury Lane Lodge 2127 and the Anglo Foreign Lodges Association Assistant Secretary and Lodge Representative.

For many years, Tony was with in business with his father supplying and fitting Ship’s Decking to the major Cruise Liners.

 Tony’s main charitable work has been with the Citizens Advice Bureau for the last 20 years as an Employment Advisor , raising £20,000 for the Colchester CAB as Chair of the Fundraising Committee.

Personal achievements include winning the Jersey Air Rally, writing and staging three full-length musicals plus several published songs including the International Fund For Animal Welfare anthem.

After the meeting, the Companions and Metropolitan Officers dined together at the Spaghetti House restaurant, enjoying a delicious Italian four course dinner accompanied by fine wines.
